Archeological Study Bible
Zondervan, 2006

This study Bible is about more than just archeology. It's full of historical, cultural, and theological study aids that can save you time by putting the research in the same place as the Scripture you're studying. You'll also find more than 500 full-color photographs. One of the best parts of this particular study Bible is the CD with supplemental study tools, the entire NIV text, and an electronic format of all the photos, charts, and other similar tools included in the study Bible.

"Listen to other pastors preach. Find a style that is similar to what you think you are and learn from it. It’s OK to have models. You’ll develop your own style eventually. You can't help but be you." - Rick Warren

"And don't let anyone put you down because you're young. Teach believers with your life: by word, by demeanor, by love, by faith, by integrity." - I Tim. 4:12 (MSG)

Student Leadership Conference (July 10-13) - Take your student leaders to the next level at this special conference to be held at Saddleback Church this summer. Doug Fields and other great speakers will help your student leaders get a vision for what God can do through your youth group.
Wilberforce for president? - Don't like any of the candidates for U.S. president in 2008? Although he passed away more than 150 years ago, this Web site is urging that Americans consider drafting him to be their 44th president. He's got an impressive resume. He led the efforts to end the British slave trade, he was a committed, born-again Christian – and he was actually in the British parliament when America won its independence.
Serious Times - James Emory White, president of Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, is one of the pre-eminent Christian thinkers in the country. On his Web site you can sign up for a bi-weekly e-mail column from him.
Church cancelled, service begins - Could cancelling your church services this Sunday lead to a day of great ministry? The most recent issue of Outreach magazine highlighted a few churches who emphatically say, “Yes.”
Results of the 'Street to the Seat' survey - Recently we linked Toolbox readers to a survey being done by Kerry Mackey, Saddleback's membership pastor, on how your church moves people from the “street to the seat.” You can now check out the results on Kerry's blog site. Now Kerry plans to start providing tips, resources, and tools to help churches improve on some of the struggles the survey pointed out. Visit the blog to see the survey results and sign up to receive an e-mail when the blog is updated.

“Remember that as a teenager you are at the last stage of your life when you will be happy to hear that the phone is for you.” - Fran Lebowitz

"Many church leaders decry the decline of biblical literacy and knowledge among the younger generations. Rightly so; many teenagers don't even know what they believe, or why. But the leaders are pointing fingers at the wrong culprits. The debate shouldn't be between entertainment versus biblical education. We ought to be discussing (loudly and openly) the difference between ineffective instruction and truly life-changing instruction." - Jeff White, Holy Wow: Boost Your Youth Ministry Creativity (Group, 2004)

"I try not to make a big soap opera out of the shark attack. I would rather focus on what God has allowed me to do in picking up the pieces of my old life and adjusting to parts that are new and different for me. Most of all, I want to use my story as a way to tell people about God's story. It seems like he has given me the attention of the world for a moment, and I had better take advantage of it while I can." - Bethany Hamilton, teenage surfer who lost an arm to a shark, Soul Surfer (Pocket Books, 2004)

"Busyness does not equal effectiveness." - Doug Fields, What Matters Most (Zondervan/Youth Specialties, 2006)
