Mobilizing your whole church for missions
by Skip Lanfried

Jesus didn't commission 10 percent of our churches to be involved in missions. He commissioned every believer. Think it's impossible to mobilize every believer in your church? Saddleback's Skip Lanfried doesn't. In part one of this four-part series on mobilization, Skip shares some thoughts on communicating missions in a way that will lead to total mobilization.

Interlinear for the Rest of Us
William D. Mounce (Zondervan, 2006)

This interlinear New Testament is designed for those with little or no training in biblical languages. It's one of the few interlinears to start with the English text and then go to the Greek text. It's a great companion piece to Mounce's Complete Expository Dictionary of Old & New Testament Words, which we mentioned in Toolbox a few months back.

Commentary & Reference Survey
John Glynn (Kregal, 2007)

This book will give you a nice feel for what are the most effective biblical reference tools out there. It splits the reference tools up into specific categories, such as Old & New Testament commentaries, biblical dictionaries, language resources, biblical background studies, and more. Each list contains a variety of resources with the best being highlighted. Commentaries in the book are also rated as to their theological slant (conservative, moderate, and liberal). The volume could save you money as you build you library.

"If I look at 10 translations of the Bible (and those translations have been translated by the top 300 Greek scholars in the world) and if I find a word that’s different than what’s in one of those translations, it means one thing – I’m wrong." - Rick Warren

"Repent, then, and turn to God, so that he will forgive your sins." - Acts 3:19 (TEV)

"A church's location or denomination will appeal to the intellect, but its appearance will appeal to the heart. The condition of the building, the landscaping, and the signs (or lack thereof) can make a difference between a church that welcomes visitors and one that is ignored. Curb appeal is not about tricks; it's about removing barriers that discourage people from coming inside your church where they can experience your ministry." - Jennifer Schuchmann, in The Church Answer Book (Tyndale, 2006)
