Life's Healing Choices
John Baker (Howard Books, 2007)

Written by Saddleback's own John Baker, this book focuses on eight life-changing choices that help us overcome the hurts, habits, and hang-ups that keep us from discovering and living out God's unique purpose for our lives. In addition to the practical, biblical wisdom contained in the book, there are also two testimonies in each chapter that help illustrate the choices. It's a great book to provide for people in your church who need to deal with sin addictions, and a great way to introduce them to the principles behind Celebrate Recovery.

Children in divorced families tend to do better in joint custody – either physical or legal – than those who live and interact with just one parent, says a major study by the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. “We cannot take the approach that we just need to teach people the classic spiritual disciplines, assuming that a person already has a developed center. We must use spiritual disciplines to help people form the center.” - Reggie McNeal in The Present Future (Jossey-Bass, 2003)
