A total of 33.2 million people worldwide are living with HIV/AIDS. For many years I thought Jesus wanted me to save souls. And then I discovered Jesus wanted me to save people. There’s a whole lot more than getting them to pray a little prayer. I wanted you to see what real courage is, instead of getting the idea that courage is a man with a gun in his hand. It’s when you know you’re licked before you begin, but you begin anyway and see it through no matter what. Religion is not “doctrinal knowledge,” but wisdom born of personal experience. I was empty. I was just empty. The God I was praying to was a God I thought maybe could answer my prayers, but I didn’t realize that I needed to go through a living God and I had, I did, and I’m just beginning to really get the feeling of Jesus Christ inside of my body. And it is growing, and growing, and growing. And it’s become such a wonderful thing since then and the time we spent together, I just can’t believe it. I’m so complete now that I’m not even afraid to get on an airplane and fly back to Tampa, that’s how I feel. |
