Keep Walking
Larry Jones (Doubleday, 2007)

Called the Mother Theresa of America, Larry Jones is the driving force of an organization (Feed the Children) that serves more than 1.5 million meals a day around the world. Jones started the ministry in 1979 after meeting a hungry Haitian boy and it has grown to one of the most respected charities in the country. Pastor Rick writes in the book’s forward, “In the grand scheme of things, Larry’s legacy of saving countless lives will matter far more for eternity than any accomplishment you’ll read about in the entertainment, sports, or financial pages. This man has made his life count, and I pray his story will motivate you to do the same. I am proud to call him my friend.”

Among the unsaved people on earth, what is the prevailing image of Christians today? It’s not the dedicated and inspired work of our missionaries. It’s not the great preaching of Billy Graham or others who inspire people. It’s the image of divisions among brothers and sisters in Christ as we struggle for authority or argue about the interpretation of individual verses in the Holy Scriptures. - Jimmy Carter at the New Baptist Covenant Celebration, reported by Baptist Press
