Congratulations You’re Gifted: Discovering Your God-Given S.H.A.P.E. to Make a Difference in the World
Erik Rees and Doug Fields (Zondervan, 2008)

Based on Erik Rees’s popular book about S.H.A.P.E. (spiritual gifts, heart, abilities, personality, and experiences), this paperback will help teens discover God’s unique shape for their lives. Your church’s teens will get a clear picture of how God wants to use them in the future. It’s a great book to use in your youth ministry as you try to mobilize teens for ministry.

"I’m not trying to impress other Christians. I’m trying to build a bridge to unbelievers so that Jesus can walk across." - Rick Warren

"While Jesus was having dinner at Matthew’s house, many tax collectors and ‘sinners’ came and ate with him and his disciples. When the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples, ‘Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?’ On hearing this, Jesus said, ‘It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. But go and learn what this means: I desire mercy, not sacrifice. For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.’" - Matthew 9:10-13 (NIV)

One Prayer Campaign - LifeChurch.tv is partnering with hundreds of churches globally to do a series called “One Prayer” beginning the weekend of June 7-8 and running for four weeks. The series aims to build unity, give senior pastors a break from teaching, raise funds for global missions, and expose congregations to great video teaching centered on the premise, “If God would answer one prayer for the church at large, what would you pray?” The Website gives all the details on how your church can participate.

“As Christians, we have to keep in mind that response rates are not the ultimate goal (of mass evangelism) but rather the wise careful stewardship of the image of God. Today’s media and technology create unparalleled opportunities, but they also wield the potential to harm the Christian image among many outsiders. If you create more barriers with outsiders because of your tactics, you have not been a good steward of the gospel.” - Dave Kinnaman and Gabe Lyons, unChristian (Baker, 2007)

“Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing.” - Helen Keller

“Fate chooses our relatives, we choose our friends.” - Jacques Delille, Malheur at Pitié (Canto I), 1803

“I am ready to meet my maker. Whether my maker is prepared for the great ordeal of meeting me is another matter.” - Winston Churchill’s epitaph
