Jeremy Kingsley (Tyndale, 2008)

Struggling with what it means to be great in ministry? Jeremy Kingsley has a great equation to help you answer that question. Humility plus service equals greatness. We often read leadership books designed to build us up. This one will help you lead from a bended knee – by humbling yourself and serving others. It’s a great complement to your summer reading list on leadership.

"The world is looking for an authoritative message from a humble personality." - Rick Warren

"Therefore, since through God’s mercy we have this ministry, we do not lose heart. Rather, we have renounced secret and shameful ways; we do not use deception, nor do we distort the word of God. On the contrary, by setting forth the truth plainly we commend ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God." - 2 Corinthians 4:1-2 (NIV)

Study shows churches have lowest mortality rates - Churches last longer than other organizations according to a new study. Only one percent of churches close their doors each year. The study may wake people up to the church’s potential in long-lasting community transformation.
Jesus Creed - Author and professor Scot McKnight blogs on the intersection between the ancient church and today’s church. His site, called Jesus Creed, also includes links to other similar blogs.

A study of married people by the University of Texas showed that having strong families was a much better predictor of happiness than money. Although money did have a minimal effect on happiness, it only helped up to a point. Strong family relationships were much more important. - (Source: WebMD, June 20, 2008)

“The price of doing the same old thing is far higher than the price of change.” - Bill Clinton

“We don’t accomplish anything in this world alone ... and whatever happens is the result of the whole tapestry of one’s life and all the weavings of individual threads from one to another that creates something.” - Sandra Day O’Conner
